Wawa - The Ontario Provincial Police Superior East Wawa Detachment once again seized a motor vehicle under Ontario’s new Stunt Driving Legislation.

On November 21, 2007, at approximately 11:20 am, an officer from Wawa was conducting radar on Hwy. 17 in Menzies Township approximately 30 kilometers north of Wawa. A southbound Oldsmobile was observed to be traveling at a high rate of speed and stopped by police. A 20 year old male from Quebec was charged with Stunt Driving – 150 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone under the Highway Traffic Act.

The driver had his driver’s licence suspended and his vehicle impounded for 7 days. The Driver was issued a summons for Wawa Court. The minimum fine under the new legislation is $2000.00.
