Mayor Fedelli and members of Council;

It is now 30 days since my house arrest commenced. In that period of time, I have received and read Council documents, board materials and e-mails. Citizens continue to phone , drop in and e-mail their issues to me. I remain an active member of Council.

Recently, I requested to attend DNSSAB and NDHC board meetings via teleconference. This is usual practice for these boards however; the members of the board are required to approve the request. I was informed that members of the North Bay Council objected to the request and it has been denied.

Throughout the region and the province, numerous boards and commissions permit member's attendance at meetings via teleconference. The City of Toronto allows Councilors attendance via teleconference. This is usual practise.

Next, I requested that the Law Society consent to change the Saturday 9-noon "free time", to Monday nights, 6:30-9:30 p.m., in order to permit my attendance at Council meetings. The request has been denied.

I am asking that I be permitted to attend Council meetings via teleconference.

Would you kindly advise when this request will be considered?

I await your response.

Maureen Boldt
