Sudbury – Northern Ontario residents have one more week to make their music and film submissions for the upcoming 2008 Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards and Conference (NOMFA). Music and Film in Motion (MFM) would like to announce that the nomination period will be closed on Friday, November 16th at 5pm.

To be eligible, submissions must have been released during the Eligibility Period of January 1, 2006 to November 16, 2007 inclusively. Complete eligibility requirements are outlined in the official Guidelines, which are available for download at www.thinknorth.ca. All submissions must be received no later than 5 pm on November 16, 2007.

Artists may nominate themselves or be nominated by someone else. The fees are $5 per submission for MFM members and $15 per submission for non-members, plus GST. The winners will be announced during the Awards Ceremony to be held in Sudbury, on Saturday, May 10th, 2008.

MFM would like to encourage Francophone and Aboriginal artists, industry professionals, and businesses to submit their music and film projects. French language submissions are eligible and encouraged in all categories. Should MFM receive a minimum of four submissions in any one of the four creative categories (Best Film, Best Album, Best Songwriter, Best Screenplay), we will offer a Francophone and Aboriginal specific award.

Full category descriptions, eligibility requirements, entry regulations and submission forms are available online at www.thinknorth.ca. For further questions regarding NOMFA, please contact MFM at (705) 674-9954, toll-free at 1-866-674-9954 or via e-mail at [email protected].
