The Canadian Cancer Society congratulates the students of Nipissing University and everyone involved in hosting the 2nd annual University Relay For Life held at Governor’s House on Friday, October 19, 2007.

Thanks to these community minded students, over $18,000 was raised at this student run event to fund life-saving cancer research and support services for those living with cancer in North Bay & area. These dollars will be used to fund life saving research and to support services in our community like our information outreach program and our volunteer driver program.

Relay For Life is a unique 12-hour, overnight event to honour those living with cancer; to pay tribute to those who have lost their lives to cancer; and to inspire hope for a future where no Canadian fears cancer.

Special thanks to the Relay For Life volunteer planning committee (chaired by Sara Brown and Kayla Reinert), Residence Council, participants, event volunteers, the North Bay City Council and the North Bay community for their continued support.

Sincerely,

Barb Spencer
Unit Manager - North Bay and District
Canadian Cancer Society
