On October 31, Lise Moyann and Kim Alvisi invite children and parents to participate in Halloween for Hunger, a food-drive aimed at assisting the North Bay Food Bank and empowering children to make a difference.

This is the first year for the food drive and Moyann and Alvisi are confident they will be very successful.

“We are passionate about this cause. Currently, 15,000 people rely on the assistance of the North Bay Food Bank each year and we need to do what we can to help,” Alvisi said.

They also took time to thank Mayor Fedeli and the rest of council for their outgoing support of the project.

“Parents and children are encouraged to fill their bags, wagons or vehicles with non-perishable items.”
“We want to give children the education and involvement they need so they can become empowered and make a difference in the community,” Moyann said.

Any questions about this event can be directed to Lise at the Early Childhood Education Centre, 474-8910 ext. 28.

Food-drive bags can be picked-up at 171 Chippewa Street. Once your bag is full the items can be dropped off at several participating locations:

Fire station #1- Princess Street West
Fire station #2- McKeown Street
Fire station #3- Marshall Avenue
Bay Court Plaza- Trout Lake Road near the corner of Giroux Street
Mac’s Mart- corner of Main Street East and John Street
Lucky 13- Airport Road

Moyann and Alvisi urge the community to contribute and share so that everyone can have a truly happy Halloween.
