Fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 (names released)

Markstay Warren - On Saturday, October 20th 2007, at about 4:42 pm, members of the Noelville OPP and Warren OPP Satellite Detachments responded to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 17, West of Markstay.

A green Ford Winstar van traveling west crossed the center line, lost control on the south side shoulder then rolled over in the south side ditch, hitting a rock cut.

Both the driver and passenger were fatally injured and they have been identified as Ronald LABRE, age 46 and Shane MCLEOD, age 33, both of Hanmer.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigator and OPP Collision Reconstructionist are continuing their investigation into this fatal collision.

No names are being released at this time, pending notification of next of kin.

The highway remained closed until 11:00 pm, while the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators continued their investigation.

The investigation into this collision is continuing.
