Students of École secondaire catholique Algonquin had to leave school around 1:30 pm today, because the school experienced power failure. A jumped circuit-breaker was at the root of the service being ruptured, and Hydro One employees repaired the breaker late this afternoon.

According to Raymond Lessard, Director of Education at Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord, École secondaire catholique Algonquin will be open and ready to welcome its students tomorrow morning. Mr. Lessard wishes to thank ESCA staff members, who acted professionally and effectively during the power outage. The school’s families can rest assured that their children will return to a very safe school environment tomorrow.

École secondaire catholique Algonquin offers a top-quality education to nearly 600 students. North Bay’s only French-language Catholic secondary school, École secondaire catholique Algonquin remains one of the most important pillars of the city’s francophone community.
