All Heart Pet Rescue will be celebrating its 10th year Anniversary in December of 2007.

During this time we've probably seen it all. Puppies that someone unsuccessfully drowned, a dog that had been left to die in a ditch with severed limbs, kittens left in dumpsters, dogs left chained to die in the middle of a bush, puppies left in a box in a snow bank, kittens left in boxes in farmers fields, dogs and cats both left in abandoned homes/apartments to die, senior animals in need of vet care that people have left to die on the streets, a dog that had been so badly neglected it had no fur left on its body, and on and on..........

The pet rescue has been a place for animals to be rehabilitated no matter their age, or story. We have opened our doors to more than 3000 dogs in that time and over 700 cats.

Animals being safe, healthy, happy and loved is what the pet rescue is all about.

Not only is the animals best interest at heart, but also people in need. The pet rescue has accommodated many women that have had to go to a Crisis Center or Transition house in keeping their pets until they can get back on their feet, has also been a place where many high school students, young offenders and Mental Health Patients have contributed community hours.

The pet rescue has consciously made effort to educate each person that comes through the door about responsible pet ownership and what is available to pet owners in our community.

After the pet rescues was founded by Kathy Jeanneaultnin 1997, Jeanneault made it her personal goal to constantly improve All Heart Pet Rescue.

Originally the animals were housed in an old Wooden horse/cattle barn, then they moved to 10 x 10 kennels outside, then in 2003 construction of a 2400 square foot building begun. Each dollar that has been put into the building has been from the public and Kathy and family's income.

Kathy, now a single mom of three children that are active in sports, where you will find Kathy at the games, bringing her youngest two children to the family swim at the YMCA on Saturdays, also operates Bear Creek Boarding Kennels, is an Animal Control Officer, and a part time dog trainer. Kathy had been awarded one of the Rural Women of the Year in the Almaguin area in 2006 because of her outstanding work in the community.

The active house hold is filled with much emotion, love and compassion. We are very close and do our best to keep each other apprised on our needs and feelings.

In the past year Kathy often has had days where she has been hospitalized because of an automobile accident that has injured her back. Volunteers have been wonderful to step up to the plate when Kathy has needed them.

She has not only gained some wonderful volunteers but also some life long friends through the pet rescue.

Kathy is an incredible person with great zest for life. Regardless if she is having a down day, she will never let it show. She tries to reflect on the positives in life, and doing the best she can with what she has.

Kathy was raised as an only child by her mother. It is often mentioned that the reason she does what she does is because she grew up a lonely young girl.

Kathy is an asset to her community and Province. Not only is she the founder of ALL HEART PET RESCUE but also, Ontario pet rescue; where she takes in dogs from Ontario pounds that may be slated for euthanasia, such pounds include Toronto Animal Services, Timmins Animal Shelter, Kirkland Lake pound, New Liskeard animal control, North Bay Humane Society, Windsor Humane Society, Lakeshore dog pound, Georgina animal Control Center, Quinte Humane Society in Belleville, Kingston Humane Society, Moosonee and Fort Albany.

Kathy strongly believes in helping dogs in her own country as their are too many here already, we don't need to bring animals in from others. She is also the founder of Rescuing Dogs in Canada which has 241 Canadian members to date, many of them owning Animal Rescues such as Kathy has. This group which is referred to as "RDIC" has saved the lives of several hundred dogs each year since it was founded in 2002.

I think its very important that the public knows what an incredible woman Kathy Jeanneault truly is.

Currently she has 36 homeless dogs in her care and 28 cats.

She is always looking for donations, of monetary value, and of material.
