Nipissing University students are pulling an all-nighter to help in the battle against cancer, hosting a Relay for Life on October 19.

The event begins at 7: 00 p.m. at Governors House residence, located on the corner of Cedar Heights Road and College Drive. It is being organized by Nipissing University's Resident's Council, a group comprised of students living in residence.

Members of the community are welcome and encouraged to participate. The Nipissing University relay compliments the regional relay, which takes place in June, utilizing student resources to create a broader awareness and raise funds.

Pledges and participants are able to register anytime before Friday night. Donations of food to help provide sustenance to the participants as well as door prizes are welcome.

The organizers are looking for cancer survivors who are willing to speak or participate in the first lap of the event.

Any one interested in participating, or pledging, should contact Stefanie Mockridge, residence programming coordinator at 474-3450 ext 2306.
