Nipissing-Timiskaming MP Anthony Rota is pleased with the changes made to the Federal Liberal critics and caucus team. Mr. Rota, who currently serves as the Ontario Caucus Chair, says that “The changes that Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion has made to his team of critics, his team of caucus committee chairs, and his priorities and planning committee are designed to ensure that the Liberals are best able to address the opportunities, challenges and priorities facing Canadians today.”

Mr. Rota goes on to say that “There is a stark contrast between Stephen Harper’s very tightly controlled government, and Mr. Dion’s more open, team-driven, experience-driven approach to tackling the real problems and challenges faced by Canadians in all parts of the country.”

Today’s shuffle comes one week before Parliament reconvenes, and Mr. Rota believes that it will ensure that the Liberal Party will be best equipped to address the priorities of all Canadians in the upcoming session.

“As Liberals we will continue to work for a richer, fairer and greener Canada,” says Mr. Rota. “This includes building a more prosperous economy, improving opportunity and social justice, seeking effective solutions to protect our environment, and asserting Canada’s international voice by pursuing foreign policy goals that reflect our Canadian values and truly serve our national interest.”
