Our Police Service is receiving daily complaints of motorists passing stopped school buses with lights activated while students are boarding and disembarking.
In several cases bus drivers have had to yell at students to stop crossing as they would have been struck.

Unfortunately some motorists are oblivious to this situation & on occasion some have been seen talking on cell phones.

Motorists are reminded that these matters are serious and complaints will be followed up by our officers.
Traffic legislation allows charges against the registered owner of the vehicle or the driver if identification is available.

A conviction allows for a minimum of $500. fine and the loss of 6 demerit points.
