Ontario Northland announced today that its Northlander passenger train will operate this Saturday, October 6, 2007. The Northlander travels between Cochrane and Toronto, Ontario, and provides service to many communities along the Highway 11 corridor.

“We recognize the inconvenience being experienced by many of our customers, as the result of our current labour disruption with our motor coach operators. We are hopeful that we will be able to reach a resolution quickly, however, with the busy long weekend ahead, we are adding a special Saturday Northlander train in order to provide transportation solutions to as many of our passengers as possible,” said Beverly Martin, Chief Communications Officer with Ontario Northland.

The special Saturday, October 6, 2007 train will follow the Northlander’s regular schedule.

Ontario Northland motor coach tickets will be honoured for travel on the Northlander. Passengers should note, however, that the Northlander is not a reserved service and seating is limited; for this reason, it is recommended that passengers arrive well in advance of departure times to ensure themselves a seat.

Passengers are also reminded that, unfortunately, shuttle services connecting to the Northlander are also temporarily suspended as a result of the labour disruption.
