Nipissing University is pleased to welcome guitar player and singer/songwriter Derek Miller to campus for an interactive workshop and special performance on Friday, September 28 in the Nipissing University theatre (F213).

The workshop takes place at 6:00 p.m. Individuals are invited to bring their questions as well as their guitars for a jam with Miller. The one-hour performance starts at 7:00 p.m.

As dynamic a performer you will ever see, Miller always pours a tremendous amount of energy in his performance and pushes the music to be the best it can in every situation.
Hailing from Six Nations of the Grand River community, he has received numerous awards and national recognition from organizations including the Juno awards, the Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards, The First Americans in the Arts Awards, the Indian Summer Music Awards and the Native American Music Awards.

Miller's musical journey began when his mother gave him a warped neck Fender guitar that he still writes songs on, fished out of his grandfather’s closet at the age of 13. He now has released multiple records and has toured extensively and internationally.

Admission is free and all are welcome. Seating is limited and anyone interested should reserve a seat online at: www.nipissingu.ca/derekmiller.
