North Bay fire crews responded to a fire at 360 Main Street East at 10:30 this morning after receiving a 911 call of smoke visible.

“The call reported smoke visible coming from ground unit number 8,” says Chief Fire Prevention Officer Randy Vezina.

Vezina says thanks to the quick response of the crew the fire was knocked down in no time.

“The guys quickly stretched an attack line off of pump number 2,” explains Vezina.

“There was a lot of smoke production but not too much flame, so the guys knocked it down and used a minimal amount of water.”

Vezina commended the North Bay Police Service for their assistance with the investigation, and says he is ruling the fire suspicious with the cause undetermined.

There were no injuries; meanwhile, damage is pegged at about $6,000.
