MNR to remove illegal dam

North Bay - The Ministry of Natural Resources would like to advise all Wasi Lake and Wasi River shoreline property owners, and relevant municipalities and townships that removal of the illegal sandbag dam obstructing the Wasi Lake outlet will take place during the fall of
2007.

Staged removal of sandbags will commence on September 24, 2007 and will continue until all sandbags are removed.

This procedure is expected to result in lower lake water levels in Wasi Lake by early December, 2007. During the same period, elevated flows and water levels may be expected on the Wasi River between Wasi Lake and the outlet on Callander Bay, Lake Nipissing.
