Man Charged after Pointing Firearm

Mattawa – Mattawa OPP is investigating an incident where a man entered a residence and pointed a firearm at another male party.

In the evening of Friday, September 14th, 2007, a male subject armed with a firearm entered a residence on Donald Street in the town of Mattawa and pointed the firearm at a male party who was in the residence.

Daniel Telesphore SIMON (45 years old) of Barrie, Ontario has been arrested and charged with Point a Firearm; Unauthorized Possession of Firearm; Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm/ammunition; Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose; Assault with Intent to resist arrest; Disobeying court order; Possession of Firearm while Prohibited.

This incident is not random in nature. SIMON was held in custody.
