OPP scaling back search for missing Toronto man

Killarney – Robert Alan Puffer (05MAY60) was last seen on the 26th of June 2007. On the 26th of August 2007, Mr. Puffer's 2005 Honda Civic was located near the government dock in Killarney.

Since that time, police have conducted an extensive air, marine, ground and underwater search of the area. The Ariel search covered an area approximately 25 nautical miles from the shore of the Town of Killarney from LaCloche to Byng Inlet. The ground search covered approximately 65km of shore line in the Killarney area. The Underwater Search and Recovery Unit conducted a grid search through the Killarney Channel.

On the 01st of September 2007, the Ontario Provincial Police will be scaling back the ground search for Mr. Puffer. Police will continue to patrol the waters of Georgian Bay and the investigation will continue into the disappearance of Mr. Puffer.

The OPP requests that members of the public that can provide any information regarding Mr. Puffer or his missing Kayak, please contact the Provincial Communications Centre at 1-888-310-1122.

Killarney OPP are requesting assistance from the public and the Media in regards to a missing person investigation.

The missing person is Robert Puffer, 47yrs old. Puffer was reported missing from the Toronto area on 26 June 2007. His vehicle a 2005 Honda Civic was located near the government dock in Killarney on the 26 August 2007.

Ontario Provincial Police have commenced an extensive air, marine and ground search of the area.

The OPP are seeking the public’s assistance with any information they may have in relation to Mr. Puffer’s disappearance.

Killarney - OPP are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing Toronto Man.

Robert PUFFER, age 47 was reported missing to Toronto Police Service on July 29, 2007. He was operating a silver 2005 Honda Civic and was possibly in possession of a green 16ft kayak. He is described as 5”11” 175lbs, with sandy blond hair.

OPP have located the vehicle belonging to PUFFER at a dock in the Killarney area on August 26th, 2007.

An OPP marine and ground search is underway.
