Local woman facing criminal charges after crash in SSM

Margaret Donnelly, 22, of 28 Strathcona Drive in North Bay is facing criminal charges after an early-morning crash that sent her sports utility vehicle hurtling down a 15-foot embankment at John Street and Carmen's Way.

City Police report that the Buick SUV was totalled by the impact, which caused non-life-threatening injuries to both Donnelly and her passenger.

The single-vehicle crash occurred around 2:20 a.m. today.

The passenger had to be extricated from the SUV by Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services.

Donnelly is charged with impaired driving causing injury, comsuming over the legal limit of alcohol and taking a motor vehicle without consent.
