Board Chair Mathilde Gravelle Bazinet is pleased to
announce the re-appointment of Johanne Labonté (effective February 4, 2007 up to and including February 4, 2010) and Marc Dumont (effective June 16, 2007 up to including June 16, 2010) for the North East Local Health Integration Network (LHIN).

Labonté and Dumont’s appointment by the Lieutenant Governor in Council was recommended as part of the Community Nomination Process and endorsed by the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care George Smitherman.

“We are pleased of Johanne and Marc’s re-appointment to our Board,” said Gravelle Bazinet. “Ms. Labonté, who represents the Cochrane Planning Area and Mr. Dumont, who represents the Timiskaming Planning Area will continue to serve our Board and LHIN Community well as we move toward local decision making”.

The North East LHIN Board of Directors is accountable, through the Chair, to the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care for the LHIN’s use of public funds, and for its results in terms of goals, objectives and performance of the local health system.

Directors are appointed by Order-in-Council for a term of one to three years, subject to a six-year maximum.

The North East Local Health Integration Network (NE LHIN) is a crown agency responsible for the planning, integration and funding of more than 150 health service providers, including hospitals,long-term care homes, mental health and addictions agencies, community support services, community health centres and the North East Community Care Access Centre.

Meanwhile, Bazinet announced the appointment of Mr. Mark Fisher as Board Director for the North East Local
Health Integration Network (LHIN) effective June 27, 2007.
