Two men stabbed overnight (update)

On the 10th of Aug. at approximately 9:30 PM two groups of youths met at the Lake Nipissing waterfront west of the dock.

At this time one of the young men in the group produced a large knife and stabbed another young male victim in the chest. The victim received a collapsed lung and a laceration to the heart.

Another young man attempted to grab the knife but received a cut to his hand.

As the other youths began to flee, the attacker then robbed another male at knifepoint, received cash and then fled himself.

At approximately 10:40 PM Csts. Joe Whitehead and Barry MacIntosh of the North Bay Police located a residence on Couchie Memorial Dr. and arrested a male in relation to these incidents.

Scott Lawrence WHITEHEAD 19 years old of No Fixed Address is charged with Aggravated Assault, Assault With a Weapon, Weapons Dangerous and Robbery. He was held for a bail hearing.

The investigating officer is Det. Cst. Paul Brewer of the Investigative Section in the North Bay Police Service.

Reports indicate that two men were stabbed in North Bay overnight night.

The alleged event took place at about 9:30pm Friday night when two adult men were stabbed near the 500 block of Main St. West. Reports further indicate that one man is still in hospital with serious injuries, while the other man was treated and released.

Details are limited at this time but police are looking for three teen males, one is possibly armed with a rather large hunting knife.
