The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority (NBMCA) is offering a guided hike at the Laurentian Escarpment conservation area, located at 15 Janey Avenue in North Bay, on Wednesday, August 15th at 7:00 pm. The NBMCA's staff naturalist Dale D'Allaire will be discussing both edible plants and traditional medicinal plants which grow wild in the region.

Tickets are $3.00 for adults, $2.00 for children aged six to 12 and free for children five years old and under. The public can contact the NBMCA at 474-5420 for more information or to make a reservation.

The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority was founded in 1972 by the Province of Ontario and its 10 member municipalities. A non-profit organisation, the NBMCA works closely with the public to ensure the environmental health of the region's watershed. The NBMCA is one of 36 Conservation Authorities who are members of Conservation Ontario.
