TOROS - 21 years of solid productions

Adrian Shepherd-Gawinski (Cat in the Hat) leads the audience on a journey into the land of Dr. Seuss Wednesday.

For the past 20 consecutive years the Theatre Out Reach On Stage (TOROS) production team has thrilled and dazzled North Bay audiences, and this year is no exception. Aside from a few minor technical glitches and an unscheduled performance by a bat, who flew above the crowd a few times, this year's rendition of Seussical the musical opened strong.

Under the direction Shane Southcott and Erik Stackelberg, Krista Schoen (Jojo) had a good performance, but it was Adrian Shepherd-Gawinski 'The Cat in the Hat' who stole the show and gave the outstanding high-energy performance of the night. It seemed effortless as the very fluid actor sheepishly moved the audience from scene to scene. Shepherd-Gawinski has had success in a number of productions this year, and there seems to be no limit to the depth of roles this young man can play on stage.

Shepherd-Gawinski’s performance was supported and enhanced by the strong vocal stylings of Kudzai Guta (Horton the Elephant), Dominique Lalonde (Mayzie La Bird), Maya Tekavcic (The Sour Kangaroo) and Nicole Glover (Gertrude McFuzz).

Kudos to Lynn Morrison (wardrobe) and James Bolton (designer) for producing the colourful costumes and set that truly made you feel that you were part of any Seuss story.
