Liberal leader in for 'Summer Fling'

Nipissing-Timiskaming MP Anthony Rota will be welcoming Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion to Nipissing-Timiskaming this weekend, and says that he is looking forward to introducing the party leader to local constituents.

“Since becoming Leader, Stéphane has been reaching out to Canadians from coast to coast,” says Mr. Rota, “and I am pleased that constituents will have an opportunity to interact with him directly.”

Mr. Dion will be arriving in North Bay on Saturday morning, and will be participating in a variety of events during his visit, including the Ontario Young Liberal “Summer Fling” which is set to take place at Nipissing University this weekend.

The Summer Fling is an annual event which brings together hundreds of Young Liberals from across the province, and is held in a different riding every year. This marks the first time that the event is being held in Nipissing-Timiskaming, and Mr. Rota says that this is testament to the hard work and determination of local Young Liberals.

“The Nipissing-Timiskaming Young Liberals are a very dedicated and enthusiastic group that has worked extremely hard to organize this year’s Summer Fling,” says Mr. Rota. “As the Liberal Ontario Caucus Chair, I am very proud of the time and effort that they have put into hosting such a high profile event.”

Mr. Rota says that this weekend will provide an excellent opportunity to showcase North Bay to Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion as well as several other Members of Parliament and Young Liberals from all parts of Ontario.

“There is a great deal of excitement surrounding this weekend’s activities,” says Mr. Rota, “and I will be doing my part to ensure that this is a positive and memorable experience for everyone involved.”
