North Bay Police add one more to the family

North Bay Police Services (NBPS) held a ceremony this morning to swear in a new officer.

Hailing from Toronto Elia served the Canadian Armed Forces from 1998 until 2005 with the 3rd Royal Canadian Regiment out of CFB Petawawa. He was a paratrooper and completed missions in Bosnia and Afghanistan.

Elia was sworn in by City Solicitor Mike Burke who said Elia is a fine addition to NBPS.

Before coming to North Bay’s Police Force Elia studied at McGill University and graduated with a BA in History.

For many years Cst. Christian Elia said he always dreamed of one day becoming a police officer and that today the journey is complete. He is looking forward not only to his duties, but also taking time to get out and enjoy the new surroundings with his family.
