Chase results in arrest

At approximately 4:30 AM on the 27th of July Cst. Richard Hampel of the North Bay Police while on patrol, attempted to pull over a vehicle with 4 individuals within. This vehicle then fled the area and the officer followed. The officer eventually called off the chase due to safety concerns as the vehicle was going through stop signs and red lights.

A short time later the officer backed up by Cst. Chris Marshall spotted this same vehicle pulling into a driveway on Couchie Memorial Dr.

At this time it was ascertained that the driver was not the one that was driving at the time of the chase, however this driver did show signs of impairment and was arrested.
Francois Martin 25 years old of Church St. in Sturgeon Falls is charged with Impaired Driving and is to attend court at a later date.

A warrant of arrest is being sought for a known male in relation to the original chase.
