Body found on Lake Bernard

Sundridge - On Monday the 23rd of July at approximately 7:00 pm, Almaguin Highlands OPP attended Lake Bernard regarding a found body. The OPP Underwater Search and Rescue Unit located the deceased in approximately 100’ of water in Lake Bernard. The body was later identified as Steven KURK 43 years old of Kitchener who had been missing since Thursday the 28th of June 2007. The Almaguin Highlands Crime Unit also attended the scene and assisted with this investigation.

This investigation is under the direction of Cst. Rosemary Coffey of the Almaguin Highlands OPP.
