North Bay Fire and Emergency Services are wearing RED on Fridays to recognise and honour our men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces. Red Fridays for Emergency Services in Ontario originated with the Niagara Falls Fire Department with the then Fire Chief Pat Burke who has since become Ontario's Fire Marshal.

It is anticipated that more fire departments in Ontario will pay similar tributes to the brave men and women in our armed forces.

Canadian Armed Forces in Afghanistan are all too often paying the supreme sacrifice in defence of our way of life, Red Fridays is just a small token of how we show our respect and admiration for what they do.
We thank them and wish them well.
