News Release

Friday the 13th was not unlucky for Wayne Yarrow of Island 725 Lake Temagami as he caught this 30 lb. monster lake trout. Wayne was fishing with his buddy Dan O’Mara in the North Arm of Lake Temagami using a Williams Wabler on wire line. The fish hit as the bottom was coming up from a depth of 110 feet to a shoal at 90 feet.

The fish, which had a length of 42 inches and a girth of 27 inches, put up quite a fight. After a quick measure and a few pictures the fish was released without any difficulty back into Lake Temagami.

By sending a picture of the fish along with its measurements to the Temagami Stewardship Council Wayne has entered his fish in the Trophy Live Release Contest for Lake Temagami and now has a chance to win a replica mount of the fish from Advanced Taxidermy in Toronto. All lake trout over 10 lbs and walleye over 6 lbs are eligible for the contest.
