North Bay - The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority (NBMCA) has announced the start of its environmental day camps. The environmental day camps are designed for children aged 6-12. Registrations are now being accepted daily for the day camps, which take place Monday-Friday from 10:00a.m.-3:00p.m.

“Just because school is out for the summer doesn’t mean learning has to stop – we’ve just moved it outdoors!” explains Dale D’Allaire, Naturalist, North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority. “The Environmental Day Camps will provide a fun and safe environment for children and will hopefully assist parents who may find it difficult to arrange child care during the summer”

Children will participate in a variety of environmentally based indoor and outdoor activities including nature studies, crafts and games. A pizza lunch is included on every Friday of the camp and before and after care is available at an additional cost. The public is asked to contact Dale D’Allaire at the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority at (705) 474-5420 for more information or to register.

The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority (NBMCA) was founded in 1972 by the Province of Ontario and the NBMCA’s 10 member municipalities. A non-profit organisation, the NBMCA works closely with the public to ensure the environmental health of the region’s watershed. The NBMCA is one of 36 Conservation Authorities who are members of Conservation Ontario.
