The North Bay Police Service would like to advise the public of the new lighting look that our marked police cruisers will have.

As the equipment comes up for replacement our red lights will be replaced by blue and red flashing lights.
Ontario was the only province within the country that had not gone to that colour scheme before and legislation has recently been passed allowing Ontario Police Services to have this on their fleet vehicles.

Peel Regional Police were the first to implement this and had been spearheading this campaign for some time.

Studies have been conducted that show that the colour blue with red is more readily seen during the daytime and is much more prevalent at night.

Presently one of our cruisers is outfitted with this lighting bar on the roof.
