Just a quick reminder that the Julie Price and Derick Lehmann's Rich Bride/Poor Bride episode airs Wednesday.

The community has the option of watching the show at Galaxy Cinema on Lakeshore Wednesday July 25th at 8pm or from the comfort of their own home on Slice channel 27 same date and time.

The viewing at the Galaxy Cinema will also act as a fundraiser for Jessica Gough, a special student of Julie’s.

Just a few short months ago nervous bride, Julie Price, stood outside the doors to the Nipissing Theatre on College Drive waiting to march down the aisle to her awaiting and equally nervous groom, Derick Lehmann.

The couple, who married in last fall, says they were always sure of their intentions and never had any doubts. The butterflies were largely due to the fact that camera crews were trailing behind documenting every detail, because the duo had agreed to open their nuptials up for the nation to see for Slice TV’s Rich Bride Poor Bride.

Since the wedding Saturday, November 18, 2006, the Lehmanns have settled into wedded bliss, but find the nerves have returned once again because the price tag for their special day will be revealed nationally next week as Slice runs the episode of their ceremony.

“I'm very excited to see how the show turns out,” Derick tells BayToday.

“I'm not nervous that the show will make me look 'mean' at all because I think anyone that has ever planned a wedding will agree that something strange takes over when you are trying to do things perfectly for you, your family and of course your soon to be spouse.”

Thrilled and excited about the show, Julie and Derick want to share the event with the community and have secured a public screening of the show on the big screen at Galaxy Cinema on Lakeshore Wednesday July 25th at 8pm.

“The show was a great lead up to our wedding day and no matter how we look on screen, I know that we had a great time at our wedding and that we had an experience that not many other couples get to have.”

Feeling truly blessed and lucky with the whole situation, the couple wants to give back to the community, so they have decided to have the screening act as a fundraiser for a special student of Julie’s.

“All money raised will be given to the Jessica Gough fund,” explains Derick.

“Because Jessica was a student in one of Julie’s classes at West Ferris Secondary School, we feel she, and her family are deserving of the money to help them get back to a normal life.”

“Galaxy has been great and is donating the theatre for the event so every penny raised will be going directly to Jessica and her family,” he adds.

The couple has asked that everyone make a minimum of a $2 donation at the door.

The show airs at the same time on channel 27 for folks who are unable to attend the screening.
