North Bay - Over the next year Canadian Blood Services will be looking to recruit approximately 85 000 new donors nationally to meet the growing need for blood from hospitals. We are encouraging local residents of North Bay to come out and donate at the Community Blood Donor Clinic June 20 and 21 at the Elks Lodge. On average, every minute of every day, someone in Canada needs blood or blood products. And the hour it takes to give has the potential to save up to three lives – that is the beauty of giving blood.

Canadian Blood Service and recipients are very grateful to the donors and volunteers who take the time to give back to their community. 52 per cent of Canadians say they or a family member have needed blood or blood products for surgery or for medical treatment. So don’t wait, and help those close to you.

Join Canadian Blood Services at the Elks Lodge on June 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. as well as on June 21 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Date: June 20 and June 21

Location: Main Hall, Elks Lodge, 325 Elks Lane, North Bay

Time:

June 20
- 11:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.
- 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

June 21

- 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

If you are interested in donating blood; we encourage people to book an appointment by calling Canadian Blood Services toll-free at 1 888 2 DONATE (1 888 236-6283). Same day appointments will also be accepted: however, donors who make appointments will be given priority. This system is established for the donors own convenience so that they can avoid long wait times and unnecessary delays. This system is essential to Canadian Blood Services so that we can plan and forecast the distribution of products to hospitals across Canada.
