Picture perfect weather helped the 7th annual Relay for Life hosted at CFB North Bay post another successful event for the Canadian Cancer Society.

A total of 96 teams (about 1500 people) circled the new track, located across from the base CANEX, for 12 hours to raise $220,000 to help fight cancer.

A sea of blue shirts covered the track as the emotional ‘Survivors Lap’ opened the event. 7-year old Jessica Sheldon, who marked her second year of surviving leukaemia, was among the 282 survivors.

Adding the combined totals from Sturgeon Falls ($93,000) and Trout Creek ($11,000) the North Bay and Area branch office raised a grand total of $325,000 for 2007.
