1. Current Situation

There were 2 new fires reported yesterday in Thunder Bay and Cochrane districts.
No problems were experienced with either fire.

Over the weekend the weather pattern has changed from a high ridge to have cloud and showers sweep across the province – with the potential for lightning.

Significant lightning was received in the West with varying amounts of rain. Additional lightning is expected to develop in the East this afternoon which could start fires that will show up over the next several days.

Ontario is continuing to support Quebec by alerting the Manol Incident Management Team on standby for quick deployment.

Ongoing Fires

RED 11 - The fire is located approximately 50 km northwest of Sachigo Lake near the Manitoba border and is 680 ha in size. Because of its remote location and no threat to values, this fire is being monitored.

SUD 46, THU 37, SLK 11 – Monitoring and IR scanning in the interior of these burns are ongoing.
