Vehicle stop leads to drug charges

A Constable and a Sergeant from the North Bay OPP checked a vehicle Friday evening (June 8th, 2007) which ended in a narcotics seizure.

At approximately 9:48 p.m., officers stopped a black 2003 Volkswagon Golf travelling eastbound on South Shore Road, Chisholm Township, driven by a lone male. Upon further investigation, police discovered drugs on the driver and within the vehicle. Police seized 27.5 grams of Crack Cocaine; 42 pills of Oxycodone and 6 grams of Marihuana.

Police arrested 24 year old Jeffery St. Jean of Powassan, Ontario. He is charged with two (2) counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Schedule I Substances; and, one count of Possession of a Schedule II Substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA). He will appear in court on Tuesday August 7th, 2007 at the Ontario Court of Justice, 360 Plouffe St., North Bay, Ontario at 9:30 a.m.
