Three members of Sault Ste. Marie's Turco family died today in a crash on Highway 400 in the Southern Georgian Bay area, Ontario Provincial Police advise SooToday.com.

Dead are 48-year-old Pasquale Turco, 78-year-old Antonio Turco and Maria Turco, 73.

The three died in a single-vehicle crash around 9:30 a.m. Sunday on Highway 400 northbound, about five kilometres north of White Falls Road, also known as Muskoka Road 34.

Police say that a grey Honda driven by Pasquale Turco left the highway for reasons that are so far unknown and slammed into the centre rock cut.

The Honda then spun onto its roof and slid across the other lane of the highway.

Pasquale Turco was thrown from the vehicle.

The front passenger, Antonio Turco, and the rear passenger, Maria Turco, both died on impact.

Highway 400 was closed for about six hours yesterday while police investigated the accident.

The three deceased were taken to Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie.

A post-mortem will be conducted on Pasquale Turco to determine the cause of death.

Ontario Provincial Police are currently seeking witnesses to the Highway 400 crash.
