Clancy MacDonald Archives

Clancy MacDonald ArchivesMr. MacDonald was the News Director of radio station newsrooms in North Bay for over 35 years. He retired from radio on February 9th, 2001 and started a new job three days later as Executive Assistant in Ottawa for Nipissing MP, Bob Wood.

During his three-hour farewell show on radio, Clancy received many awards and honours from individuals and groups. The Mayor and City Council had also proclaimed February 9th, 2001 as "Clancy MacDonald Day" in North Bay.

In May of 2003 Clancy was presented with the "Lifetime Achievement Award" from the Radio-Television News Directors Association of Canada. It was the first time the national award was ever presented by the broadcaster’s group.
