Theatre Out Reach On Stage (TOROS) is ready for its twenty-fifth season, presenting FAME-THE MUSICAL. The show dates are August 3, 4, 5, and 6 at the Capitol Centre in downtown North Bay. Curtain rises at 7:30pm.

Conceived and developed by David De Silva, the story takes place during the last years of New York City's celebrated High School for the Performing Arts. It is the bittersweet but ultimately inspiring tale of a diverse group of students as they commit to four years of grueling artistic and academic work. With candor, humour and insight, the show explores the issues that confront many young people today: issues of prejudice, identity, self-worth, literacy, sexuality, substance abuse and perseverance.

Music Theatre International states: "FAME is nothing short of a global phenomenon. First came the hit motion picture, then the long-running television series. Now the screen sensation of the 1980's is the stage sensation of the 1990's and beyond! And if the recent smash-hit West End production is any indication, "Fame-The Musical" is indeed "gonna live forever." "

Michelle Webster directs this year's performance with choreography by Angela Nicholls. Music is under the direction of Lynne Smythe and the band is conducted by Mary Kennedy. Marla Sunstrum is the Producer.

All seats are reserved for this year's performances so it is a good idea to purchase them prior to each show.

Tickets are $17 and can be purchased at the Capitol Centre Box Office, Monday to Friday from 11am to 5pm. You can also buy your tickets online 24/7.
