Operation Impact
Deployment of Operation Impact over the weekend included 10 hours of RIDE plus 7 hours of directed traffic enforcement initiatives. There were 336 vehicles checked and 30 provincial offence notices issued, 16 of them were for equipment and documentation offences. No criminal charges were identified with drinking and driving.

Long Weekend
Over the long weekend the North Bay Police responded to 247 calls for service that resulted in 16 arrests. The arrests included, domestic assault, domestic assault cause bodily harm, assault police, breach of court orders and nine for public intoxication.

Assault Police
At 9:00 pm on Oct 5th a female prisoner being treated at the North Bay Regional Health Centre bit a police officer on the arm breaking the skin. A 33 year old North Bay woman has been charged with 2 counts of breach of recognizance and assault police. She was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Arson
At 1:00 am on the 8th Oct, fire fighters and police officers attended a Lakeshore Dr address where they found a large burn mark that was 13 feet in length and led to a specific vehicle in the parking lot. Evidence at the scene indicated that gasoline was poured in a line leading to a vehicle, then set on fire. There was no damage to the vehicle. Cst Seth Dinsmore is investigating.

Break and Enter
Between 9:00 am Oct 7th and 3:00 am Oct 8th a residence on Lavase Rd was entered and bedrooms ransacked. Items stolen include; antique silver watch, PS 3 game system, WII game system with a “fit board”, Beats by Dre headphones, NHL12 video game, NHL13 video game, IPAD 2, Toshiba laptop, Acer laptop, WiFi system, and undisclosed amounts of, rolled pennies, Canadian currency, and old Canadian currency. Cst Jeff Warner is investigating.
