North Bay woman charged with attempted murder in Timmins

Timmins police have arrested a North Bay woman after a 44-year-old Timmins man suffered serious injuries in a fight involving a knife. 

The assault occurred in an Elm Street South apartment during the evening on Friday, June 21. Police say a woman assaulted a man. 

The 44-year-old man was taken to hospital for medical treatment for significant physical injuries.

Police found and arrested a suspect yesterday evening in South Porcupine. 

Samantha Kitler, 30, of North Bay is charged with: 

  • attempt to commit murder
  • aggravated assault 
  • possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose  
  • uttering threats
  • fail to comply with recognizance 

Kitler remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.

The police crime scene investigation included the deployment of officers from the Criminal Investigation Division as well as the Forensic Identifications Section.
