Long weekend a busy one for Huntsville OPP

Huntsville OPP issued a total of 68 traffic related Provincial Offence Notices and five people were arrested for impaired related charges

The Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were busy patrolling Huntsville and Lake of Bays this past long weekend.  

Between Friday, May 17, to Monday, May 20, members from the Huntsville OPP issued a total of 68 traffic related Provincial Offence Notices and 5 people were arrested for impaired related charges.  

On May 17, 2024, at approximately 10: 38p.m. officers responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 11. Michele RANDALL, 31-year-old, from St. Catharines, was charged with:

·      Failure or refusal to comply with demand

·      Fail to Remain

On May 18, 2024, at approximately 6:30a.m., officers responded to a traffic complaint in the Town of Huntsville, as a result 18-year-old Jordan YARBROUGH, of the Town of Huntsville, was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration 80 plus

·      Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs

·      Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available

·      Person under 19 years - possess cannabis

·      Novice driver - B.A.C. above zero

·      Drive motor vehicle, fail to display two plates

·      Person under 19 years consuming liquor

On May 18, 2024, at approximately 10: 45a.m, officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision after a vehicle was observed driving the wrong way on Highway 11. 54-year-old David PERLOCK, of the Town of Bracebridge, was charged with:

·      Failure or refusal to comply with demand

·      Careless Driving

On May 19, 2024, at approximately 10:00p.m., officers conducting RIDE suspected a driver to have consumed alcohol. As a result Fred MASCHMANN, 65 years old, from the Town of Huntsville, was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration 80 plus

·      Resist Peace officer

On May 20, 2024, at approximately 11:13p.m., police responded to a report of a traffic complaint. As a result, Bethany MORAN, 35 years old, from Armour Township was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired

·      Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration 80 plus
