YMCA Thefts On 11 Oct at 1:10 pm two young males were apprehended leaving the YMCA with vehicle keys and a wallet that they had stolen from the locker room.

On 11 Oct at 1:10 pm two young males were apprehended leaving the YMCA with vehicle keys and a wallet that they had stolen from the locker room. Investigation revealed they were also responsible for thefts on Oct 10th where vehicle keys were stolen, and then the vehicle was taken using the stolen keys. Investigation has led to the recovery of that vehicle. Csts Robin Boucher and Melody Prevost are investigating.

Project CASE
Project CASE (Community Alcohol Safety and Enforcement) was an OACP province wide initiative that was conducted from Sept 24 to Sept 30th. On Sept 19th the Alcohol and Gaming inspector and the North Bay Police conducted educational meetings with several local licensed establishments. The project enforcement aspect was conducted the following week. There were 43 licensed premises checks that resulted in 7 liquor licence act charges, 3 evictions, and 8 reports being submitted by the Alcohol and Gaming Inspector.

Project BTS
A Back To School (BTS) initiative by the North Bay Police was conducted during the month of Sept. Traffic Officers targeting school zones and buses issued 15 Highway Traffic Act charges and 6 warnings.

Domestic Stats
During the week of 25th Sep to 2nd Oct the North Bay Police responded to 23 domestic related occurrences that resulted in 9 men and 3 women being charged.

A total of 20 offences by the males included 7 counts of assault, 2 counts of assault with a weapon, 2 counts of threatening, 3 counts of breach of recognizance and 1 each of forcible entry, aggravated assault, mischief, criminal harassment, breach of probation and breach of undertaking. Five males were held in custody for bail hearings and four were released on conditions with a court date.

A total of 6 offences by the women included 3 counts of assault, 2 counts of breach of recognizance and 1 for assault bodily harm. One female was held in custody for a bail hearing and 2 were released on conditions with a court date.

During the week of 2nd Oct to 9th Oct the North Bay Police responded to 25 domestic related occurrences that resulted in 1 male and 2 females being charged. The man was charged with 2 counts of sexual assault and 1 count of breach of probation. He was held in custody for a bail hearing. A total of 3 offences by the 2 women include assault bodily harm, assault, and theft under $5000. One woman was held in custody for a bail hearing and the other was released on conditions with a court date.
