North Bay Police have arrested a man following a disturbance complaint.

Police say shortly after 8 p.m. on October 20 a man and a woman had an argument and she left the Pinewood area residence. When she returned the man and his friend were still in the home and had ingested what she suspects to be purple Fentanyl.

When she asked the man's friend to leave, the man became upset and threw her to the ground and began damaging furniture.

Police were called by a person outside arrested the attacker at the scene. Police seized a small amount of suspected Fentanyl as a result of the investigation

The woman received a non-life-threatening injury.

The investigation has resulted in the arrest of a 34-year-old man from North Bay who is charged with:

  • Assault
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Breach of release order.

The man remains in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.

Police say that in order to protect the identity of the victim, they will not be releasing the name of the accused.

"Fentanyl is an opioid that continues to cause health crises and deaths in our communities," adds spokesman John Schultz. "If you have information regarding someone trafficking this drug contact police."
