OPP say that regardless of the location, or the activity involved you are always held accountable for your behaviour, and it can result in criminal charges.

On March 9, just after 6 p.m., North Bay OPP received a complaint about a disturbance at an East Ferris recreational facility.

Officers found an adult who was participating in a youth sporting activity, and became agitated and was asked to leave. That person was said to have continued to cause a disturbance and uttered threats to another person at the scene.

Police spoke to all the parties involved including the victim, who decided not to proceed with charges.

The OPP would like to remind the public that even when engaged or participating in recreational activities people are still expected to monitor their behaviours.

"In this incident the person could have been charged under the Criminal Code for causing a disturbance and for uttering threats, which would have led to court costs, a criminal record if convicted and/or conditions not to attend such events," said a news release.

"Bad behaviour is bad behaviour and if it isn't acceptable according to the law then it is still unacceptable when it occurs while participating in recreational activities."
